The Brush Project Installation - Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
Many poor brushes are left behind in the process of creating art. Some are slowly aging. A few were forgotten, caked in dried paint. A paint brush is a beloved tool and I covet used brushes like pretty bouquets. My desire is to create an art installation of used brushes. Transforming a tool into art seems appropriate - creating a little place of honour and remembrance. Artists are asked to write or carve their name into the handles to invite viewers to be curious about who used the brush.
An exhibition date has been set for this fall and time is quickly running out. There is no deadline for the brush project as this will be a lifetime collection. Send your brushes to: Kim Fjordbotten c/o The Paint Spot, 10516 Whyte Ave., Edmonton, AB, T6E 2A4 or contact info@paintspot.ca
